Monday Meet and Greet - Ross Evans

Today on the PFTC chopping block, we've got company co-founder Ross Evans. Ross directed and co-wrote Plastic Flamingo's FringeNYC hit, Finger Paint, as well PFTC's most recent production Eggs and Edamame: Theatre in Two Courses (The Egg portion). Next up, Ross will be directing RIP JD: A Celebration of Death (co-written with his partner in crime, Erin Austin) at the Brick Theater as part of the 2010 Too Soon Festival

Where are you right now, specifically?
Brooklyn, my apartment, sitting on my purple velvet couch.

What are you wearing?
My jeans, a P Flam t-shirt, and the jacket (those who know me are painfully aware which jacket. Think 80's ski instructor.)

What do you wish you were wearing?
One of Ariana's muumuu's sounded pretty sweet.

When is the last time someone clapped for you?
Yesterday.

When is the last time someone boo-ed you or should have?
Today.

Who is your least favorite Plastic Flamingo Company Member and why?
Ross.

What are you reading right now (and don't lie)?
Philip Roth's The Plot Against America. I once lost my bag at a bar, and Erin had to pick it up for me. The bartender asked what was inside, she guessed "some papers and a couple really nerdy books." The bag was returned with no more questions.

If you weren't working in the theatre, what would you be doing?
Trophy Husband

So then you're comfortable sleeping your way to the top?
How do you think I've made it this far?

If you could live in the world of any play what would it be?
Paula Vogel's Hot N' Throbbing

Based on the day your having, who should adapt it into a show?
Sarah Ruhl - I say that for no particular reason, besides the fact that I"m obsessed with her stuff.

What is your favorite Plastic Flamingo fuzzy memory?
Three way tie -

1. The rehearsal of Apocalyptic where we were drenched from the monsoon outside.
2. The first "paint rehearsal" of FInger Paint
3. The Finger Paint rehearsal where Nick, Ariana, and I had sex in unison with chairs.
