Monday Meet and Greet


You’ve seen their work in Plastic Flamingo Productions. Now it’s time to meet the artists who make it all possible. Plastic Flamingo Blogspot proudly presents Monday Meet and Greet, where we get the chance to know our company members a little better through a series of hard-hitting questions.

Mr. Robby Sandler is a Producer/Lyricist/ Playwright from Miami, Florida. He now resides in New York City. Look for his work with Plastic Flamingo this May. He’s producing Eggs and Edamame: Theatre in Two Courses.

Where are you right now, specifically?
Sitting at a desk at Rubie's costume company, eating lunch from a box.

What are you wearing?
A green sweater, jeans and Steve Madden knockoff shoes.

What do you wish you were wearing?
A sarong. Pants are a terrible idea.

When is the last time someone clapped for you?
Debuting a new song at Big Night Out a couple months ago.

When is the last time someone boo-ed you or should have?
When I did a production of A New Brain and couldn't throw paper balls behind me while walking in a circle.

Who is your least favorite Plastic Flamingo Company Member and why?
Diane Zelenka because she can't plate crackers worth a damn.

I would have been a star if I were born THINNER.

What are you reading right now (and don't lie)?
Margaret Atwood's Year of the Flood.

If you weren't working in the theatre, what would you be doing?
I'd be a confectioner.

Are you comfortable sleeping your way to the top?
Yes, but nobody else is comfortable with it.

If you could live in the world of any play what would it be?
How to Succeed...

Based on the day your having, who should adapt it into a show?
BECKETT.

What is your favorite Plastic Flamingo fuzzy memory?
Being asked to become a Flamingo.
